Which role of ACTeon ?
Policy advise
A large part of ACTeon’s activities is to advise government bodies and semi-public institutions on the development and implementation of environmental legislation, strategies and plans. ACTeon is particularly active in the field of water and the implementation of the European Union Water Framework Directive, water scarcity and drought management, and sustainable agriculture. It is currently initiating activities on the management and protection of marine resources, on biodiversity and on renewable “green” energy and eco-building.
Process animation
ACTeon has excellent expertise in the animation of multi-stakeholder & multi-disciplinary processes. It uses a wide range of interactive methods and tools for building effective bridges between actors and participants and ensuring shared understanding and cooperation.
Research
ACTeon is partner in different (mainly EU-funded) research projects. ACTeon actively works on the development of (systemic) research frameworks, methods and tools, and on their testing under practical field conditions. ACTeon’s involvement in research project also ensures access to innovative ideas and approaches, be it through direct implications in research activities or via the wide network of researchers that ACTeon has access to.
Communication and information
Development of brochures, policy briefs, posters and exhibitions or web sites ... are part of nearly all policy advise projects that involve ACTeon. ACTeon also advises on the development of information and communication strategies for government bodies in the field of environment.
Training and awareness raising
Training and awareness-raising, mainly for experts from administrations and from Non-Governmental Organisations is central to ACTeon’s work. ACTeon is involved in raising awareness for specific economic sectors (industry, agriculture) or also social groups (e.g. the Youth through support to the organization of Youth Water Parliaments).
