A look back at the sociological support provided for a LIFE project

A sympathetic but not complacent view: when sociology gets involved in the adaptation of protected areas!

Arnaud COSSON, and Manon Berge share the results of five years working alongside LIFE Natur’Adapt an article in Sciences Eaux & Territoires .

The aim of the project is to document changes in the representations and behaviour of the participants, while encouraging learning by creating opportunities for individual and collective reflection. The aim is also to help protected area managers become aware of their own development, including the emotional aspects.

A fascinating piece of work, and an example of how sociology can contribute to the immense challenge of adaptation.
