Bring rivers and the ocean to your classroom with the blue education initiative… so pupils and children acquire knowlegdge, skills and values that are essential to the delivery of sustainable actions and practices.

Blue education in action aims to bring together pupils, students, teachers, scientists and local authorities to share their experiences and co-develop future blue education concepts and initiatives.

Discover the activities and results of blue education projects organized by schools from the Catalonia Region. Listen to, and discuss with, students, teachers and associated partners of these projects to capture challenges and added-value. Think about how to adapt and replicate in your own class, school or region to contribute to Blue education in action.

As part of teams of pupils, teachers, scientists and stakeholders… co-develop the most exciting blue challenge (education) projects addressing the priority topics of the UN Ocean Decade.
Think innovatively and creatively on how best to share knowledge –interactive games, training programme, a school trip concept, a theatre play… Floor is yours!
Present your project’s concept, attract people interested to bring it to reality and maybe… get the highest number of votes recognizing the most inspiring projects.

Listen to experiences from blue education networks from different parts of the world. Contribute to interactive sessions to identify what matters most to reach many schools and to deliver highest impacts. Help identifying key areas requiring better knowledge, prototyping and mechanisms for upscaling.

Engaging in science through storytelling to preserve our blue planet!

Come and meet Neus Figueras, the author of Lorac, a novel for teens and adults that tackles climate change, marine biodiversity and much more, and has made readers go “wow” and inspired positive change. Discover the use of storytelling to find the heart behind the data and create empathetic characters that make readers care. You will realise that there is a difference between just conveying information and doing so while moving people.
