CONTEXT
The three-year CrossGov project brings together seven partners based in 6 European. Together, the consortium is working to improve knowledge of how the coherence and compliance of marine policies and legislation in Europe impact the achievement of the objectives of the Green Pact for Europe, focusing on three pillars: protecting biodiversity, combating plastic and adapting to climate change.
OBJECTIVES
The main objective of the CrossGov project is to facilitate compatibility and consistency between the European Green Deal and various policies relating to marine environments.
The partners in the CrossGov project are working on a better understanding of European policies and their implementation in several Member States, via case studies. This work aims to :
- Better understand and explain the coherence of European marine policies
- Develop methodological and analytical tools for studying the coherence and conformity of public policies
- Better understand the challenges of implementing European marine policies at national and sub-national levels
- Better understand the decision-making processes involved in implementing these policies
- Propose improvements to the science-policy-society interface in relation to European marine policies
- Propose scenarios and roadmaps for achieving the objectives of the Green Pact for Europe and European marine policies
