Seas & Oceans

Developing our connection to the ocean to improve its protection, from a land-sea perspective

Our work

Marine ecosystems play a vital role by producing 50% of the oxygen we breathe, regulating the climate, and providing jobs and food. However, overfishing, pollution, and climate change has resulted in the degradation of the ocean’s health and marine biodiversity. ACTeon’s work on seas and ocean focuses on achieving environmental protection with economic and social sustainability.

Towards sustainable management of the commons: we help you understand governance mechanisms for sharing maritime resources, as well as provide support in implementation of marine policies, make assessments and build innovative solutions and business models for sustainable blue economy.

Educational and participative approaches: we bring the ‘blue’ into people’s minds by developing innovative tools to build skills, combining communication and an educational approach. We work with the public and private sectors and civil society to encourage schools, businesses, research and policy institutes, as well as individual citizens, to improve their knowledge and raise their awareness in order to promote ocean education.
